Rhode Island’s Little Italy
The last of the 13 colonies to become a state.
Rhode Island covers an area of 1,214 square miles, making it the smallest state in the United States.
We have decided to visit what they call “The Heart of “Little Italy””, DePasquale Square.
Marvelous Mystic Seaport
Founded in 1929, the Mystic Seaport was created to preserve the artifacts and culture of seafaring. This 19 acre museum does a spectacular job of recreating a coastal village equipped with a working shipyard, and state of the art storage facilities.
Exploring the largest maritime museum, we will have the opportunity to see first hand what it was like to live and work in a seaport so long ago.
Kingda Ka!! – Six Flags
Who’s not excited to ride roller coasters!?!?
I know there are some people who can easily pass on being launched to 128 MPH in 3.5 seconds, before bolting 45 stories straight up and screaming 456 feet straight down.

Can you believe how many people are here!? Roughly 8.4 million people are crammed into an area of 305 square miles.

The Sky’s The Limit
Today we are in the Poconos Mountains, ready to jump out of a small airplane, and plunge between 10,000 to 13,500 feet at roughly 120 mph toward the earth’s surface below.
America’s Favorite Playground – Atlantic City
Who would have known that there was another “Las Vegas” right on the beach? Atlantic City is the first boardwalk created in the U.S., back in the 1800’s.
It’s a rainy day today, so there is not a lot happening on this mile long boardwalk. From the looks of it, it seems to be a real happening place on the weekend and during the summer months. We can only imagine the things that take place at this city that is “always turned on”.

On The Battlefields of Gettysburg
The infamous battlefield at Gettysburg is arguably the turning point in the Civil War.
While not the largest battle in the Civil War (Fredericksburg with 25,000 more troops), Gettysburg is by far the costliest. It’s hard to imagine that in a span of only 3 days over 51,000 Union and Confederate soldiers are dead, maimed, or missing.
George Washington’s First Monument
When you hear about the Washington Monument, you probably think of the obelisk located in Washington DC.
While that monument is pretty remarkable, it’s actually not the first monument dedicated to George Washington.
Located in Middletown, Maryland, upon a hill lies the first Washington Monument built by the citizens of Boonsboro.
Uncle Jeff’s and the Crystal Grottoes
Today we get to explore the Crystal Grotto Caves! These caves contain some of the most dense and naturally kept formations in the world!
But first, we say goodbye to family as we continue our trip.
