Tommy & Kali

A Sunny Day in San Francisco

The City By The Bay

While visiting Tommy’s Aunt, we take a break to visit some local landmarks. California offers several tourist destinations, but no one can resist going to…

San Francisco!!

We are greeted first with typical traffic and a toll into the city.

The beauty of all the local bridges surround us as we enter the city.

After finding parking for the van, we begin to walk through…

Fisherman’s Warf

Tommy cannot resist taking a photo of a local resident.

During our morning stroll, we happen to come upon the USS Pampanito, a Balao class submarine used during World War II. It is said to have sunk 6 enemy ships, damaged 4, and saved 73 POWs.

Right near the USS Pampanito lies the Jeremiah O’Brien. It is the last unaltered Liberty Ship that provided crucial personnel and supplies to support the Normandy invasion.

We take a break from our walking to enjoy a splendid seafood lunch. Tommy ordered clam chowder in a sourdough bowl and Kali ordered fried crab cakes.

In the distance we heard some sea lions barking away, so we had to investigate!

These are two peas in a pod. Cuteness overload!!!!

We then end our time at Fisherman’s Warf to head to…

… None other than….

Lombard Street!!

We take not one….

…..but two trips down this steep, winding road.

After we are satisfied with our trips down the Lombard St. we make our way over to the best known landmark in San Francisco….

The Golden Gate Bridge!!!

We drive across…..

…. spend some time at the viewing point….

Then make our way back to Tommy’s Aunt’s house.

We first get the pleasure of driving through a rainbow tunnel.

While stuck in evening traffic, we get to enjoy the beautiful views right outside the city.

After arriving at the house, we enjoy a delicious homemade dinner with several of Tommy’s aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Thank you Ed and Louise for being so accommodating!! 😀
