Has anyone ever wondered where Smokey went?

 

Well… he’s dead.

 

…and today, we’re here to honor his memory!

Located in the town of Capitan, New Mexico is the final resting place of Smokey The Bear.

The Museum

Accompanying the park is small museum.
Adults pay a $2.00 fee to enter this site.

It’s a small museum…

After enjoying the memorabilia and watching a short video, we head outside to pay Smokey his final respects (from us anyway).

The park outside contains a small wooden path

with signs and other misc items from his era.

Smokey’s Eternal Rest…

Along the walking path is smokeys burial site

We can’t help but wonder where he’s gone…

Perhaps?

We may never really know…
We do know his memory and message will live on within us… and the many bear statues within the park.
